I’m a big proponent of using cell phones in the classroom.  As a math instructor I have my students use the built-in calculator during their tests (in airplane mode only).  During lectures I have students text in responses to polls I post when I check for understanding.  But I also use Remind 101 as a text message distribution list to remind students of upcoming deadlines or to ask them to check out new content that I may have posted to our Blackboard site.  I provide faculty with this handout to explain the advantages and easy to use features of this awesome new web tool.
